Cape Cod Gateway Airport Welcomes New American Airlines Seasonal Service to Chicago and Philadelphia

New Direct Routes Complement Existing American Airlines Daily Seasonal Service to New York City and Washington, D.C.

HYANNIS, Mass., June 20, 2025 – American Airlines has expanded its seasonal service
to Cape Cod Gateway Airport in Hyannis, Massachusetts (HYA), with direct flights to
and from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and Chicago O’Hare International
Airport (ORD).

Seasonal daily service from Hyannis to Philadelphia began on Thursday, June 19 and
will continue to operate through September 2. Seasonal Saturday service from Hyannis
to Chicago will begin on Saturday, June 21 and continue through August 30.
The two new routes complement American’s popular seasonal daily flights from Hyannis
to New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and Ronald Reagan Washington National
Airport (DCA), which began in 2024. For the summer of 2025, American Airlines has
also added an additional flight between HYA and DCA on Fridays, Saturday and
Sundays.

Flights are available for purchase on aa.com or on American’s mobile app.
“The expansion of American Airlines seasonal service to and from Cape Cod Gateway
Airport with flights to Chicago and Philadelphia validates the demand for direct summer
air travel to the Cape from throughout the nation and beyond,” said John Flores,
Chairman, Cape Cod Gateway Airport Commission. “Cape Cod Gateway Airport is fast
becoming a preferred flight departure and arrival destination for Southern New England
visitors and residents alike, eliminating the cost and inconvenience of traveling to larger
airports in Boston and Providence.”

“American began service to Cape Cod Gateway Airport last summer, and we are thrilled
to expand our service this summer,” said Jordan Pack, American’s Director of Domestic
Network Planning. “With up to five daily flights from four cities, American will offer the
most convenient access to Cape Cod from more than 350 destinations around the
world.”
